Frequently asked questions
Do I need an account or a subscription?
No. LHTpics is free to use, with no account or subscription needed. Choose a template, make it yours and download your design.
Where should I start?
Browse the templates for a starting point, or start with a blank canvas. Give your design a name, then choose your format and customise it in the editor.
The Guided tour button in the editor walks you through the tools. You can replay it whenever you like. There are also Tips & Tricks below the canvas, or behind the ? button on mobile.
How do I edit text and move or resize layers?
Select a layer on the canvas and drag it into place. Double-click text to edit it directly, or use Text & layers in the sidebar. Drag a corner handle to resize the LHT logo or change a text layer's font size.
Use Box select to select several layers and move them together. The drag movement controls let you choose whole-pixel steps and turn alignment snapping on or off.
Can I use my own photos?
Yes. Add a JPG or PNG of up to 5 MB using Your photo, or add an image to a canvas section. To place several images anywhere in the design, open Text & layers and choose Add image layers. Add up to twelve images, drag and resize them on the canvas, and use Layer order to arrange images, text and the logo. Your photos are opened and edited in your browser, rather than uploaded to our server.
If a photo won't load, check its file type and size. For example, an HEIC photo needs to be exported as a JPG or PNG first.
How do canvas sections work?
Use Canvas sections to split your design into areas with their own images, colours, gradients, overlays and borders. Circular profile pictures use pie slices and rings instead of a rectangular grid.
You can select several sections and apply the regular style controls to all of them at once. On mobile, these controls are in the Sections tab.
What's the difference between Save design and Download PNG?
Save design downloads an editable .lht.json file containing your images, text and settings. Open it again through My creations to carry on editing. Download an updated file whenever you want to keep your latest changes; an earlier download does not update itself.
Download PNG saves the finished image for sharing or setting as a wallpaper. Its layers are flattened, so keep the design file as well if you want to edit those layers later.
Where are my designs saved, and can I share their links?
If you accept browser storage, My creations shows designs available in this browser session. The editor can restore those designs and recent edits after a reload.
These are local recovery copies, not permanent backups. A project link only works where that browser copy is available; sending it to someone else will not share your design. Download the PNG to share your image, or the design file to keep an editable copy. A design file includes your photos, so only share it intentionally.
What happens if I refuse cookies and browser storage?
You can still use the editor and download both PNG images and editable design files. Your work stays in the open editor, and reloading starts a fresh canvas. Download anything you want to keep before leaving.
You can change your choice in . Refusing after accepting also removes stored browser copies. Read more about this on the privacy page.
How do I make a wallpaper fit my screen?
Choose the Wallpapers format in Starting point, then select Desktop or Mobile and pick a resolution or device. You can also enter a custom width and height.
For finished artwork that needs no editing, visit Downloads. Wallpaper items list the available resolutions beneath their previews.
How do I put a news overlay over my video?
Choose News & stream overlays, then Desktop or Mobile, a resolution and a layout style. Breaking news and News report keep things simple; Live stream adds optional LIVE, handle and main video frame graphics. Desktop live layouts also have a separate streamer camera cut-out, with its own size, position and border controls.
Set the picture area to Transparent overlay and download the PNG. Place it above your video in OBS or your video editor. You can also use a flat green, blue or custom colour for chroma key, or upload a still photo. The checkerboard and adjustable safe-area guide are editor guides and never appear in your downloaded image.
These are static image overlays. Video, animation and live chat are added in your streaming or video app. Keep the design file to edit the headlines and layout later.
Why is the LHT data in my design out of date?
LHT data layers keep the values fetched when you added or last refreshed them, including when you reopen a saved design. They do not change automatically.
Use the refresh option in Text & layers > LHT data to retrieve new values. When downloading a PNG that contains LHT data, you can refresh it or keep the saved values.
Can I remove the attribution from my image?
Yes. Turn off Show lhtpics.com attribution at the bottom of the editor sidebar. Designs containing LHT data also show data by xrpl.to; that credit stays in place while those data layers are used.
